A lot of people may be wondering why it matters that they participate. Washington doesn’t pay attention to its constituents anymore. Plus, we all have jobs, families, obligations… why take precious time out of your schedules to go to a “protest”?

First, consider this line from the Declaration of Independence:

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Our Declaration of Independence tells us that when the government starts to abuse the American people and usurp power, it is the duty of the people to throw off that government. In today’s world, “throw off such government” obviously would not mean undergo a revolution again. It does mean, however, that we need to take action.

Our government has been abusing us. Our government has been usurping power. Our Constitution and everything this country has stood for over the last 200+ years have been trampled on. Our children’s and grandchildren’s futures are being compromised, and they will be born into debt and harder lives than the lives we have enjoyed. Our country is trillions of dollars in debt, and yet our government is continuing to tax, borrow, and spend. Americans everywhere are sacrificing and tightening their belts. The White House has celeb-filled weekly parties and cocktail parties where they enjoy delicacies like $100/lb Wagyu steak. And let’s not forget the most expensive inauguration in history. These parties and delicacies and galas are all funded, of course, by the taxpayer — you and me.

This is why thousands upon thousands of Americans across the country have been participating in these tea parties. And on April 15th, thousands more will stand together in cities across the country for the nationwide Tax Day Tea Party.

It’s time to stand together. It’s time to reclaim America. This movement is not about professional protestors or politicians. It’s not about people trying to get attention or publicity. It’s about everyday Americans who simply love their country, and can no longer sit back and do nothing.

Will you be one of those everyday Americans? Will you stand with us in the fight to reclaim our country? Come to the Jacksonville Landing April 15th at 11:30, stand with us, and make your voice heard.
